Management Team

Linda McGuire

M.A., M.I.A.C.P.

Co-Founder of KCS - Clinical Director - Professional Supervisor.

Linda has worked extensively with couples, young people and their families coordinating clinical services in these dedicated areas. Additionally, Linda has spent many years working with short term clients offering solution focused brief therapy as part of employee assist programmes. She is an experienced lecturer and has led university level degree programmes throughout Ireland in the field of counselling & psychotherapy and addiction counselling. Recognising the ever growing need for researched based therapeutic approaches for complex client cases, she travelled to the Beck Institute (USA) and completed specialised training in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for her work with young people. Linda is also an accredited clinical supervisor for both adult and child & adolescent psychotherapists and play therapists. 

Mark McGuire

Mark is an accredited Psychotherapist who has worked with children and adults in the mental health industry for the past 10 years. He has extensive experience leading nationwide therapeutic services for adolescents in State Care who have experienced significant trauma and severe attachment disorders. Mark is a provider of Solution Focused Therapy for VHI's Employee Assistance Programme and works as a private counsellor offering an integrative approach to both adolescents and adults. He has also provided therapeutic support and team debriefing to employees at a nationwide residential care service. Mark also works with the HSE's National Counselling and Counselling in Primary Care Services helping those who have experienced abuse and/or trauma in their lives. Mark has completed specialised training in CBT in the US. Mark is extremely person centered and has dedicated his career to helping his clients reach their full potential, and to understand, accept and overcome their emotional and/or behavioural difficulties. 


Hannah Byrne

Hannah has an enthusiasm and passion for helping individuals overcome their difficulties by using the tools of CBT. Hannah works alongside her clients at their own pace allowing them to reflect, progress and grow as an individual.

Hannah has worked in both the public and private sector in Ireland and in the UK delivering CBT to clients of all ages, from all different backgrounds with a variety of disorders. Disorders mostly treated are depression, anxiety, social anxiety, stress, OCD, phobias, health anxiety, panic and grief.

Hannah holds a Bachelors Honours Degree in Psychology and Post graduate degree in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. Hannah continues to study, learn and read about new therapies and techniques ensuring her clients get the most out of their sessions and feel the benefit of CBT in a safe, comfortable and confidential environment.

Fiona Fennell

Professional Cert in Child and Adolescent Cognitive Behavioural Therapy 

Fiona has worked in family resource centres, schools and in private practice over the last 4 years providing therapeutic support to children aged 3 and up and their families. Fiona uses a blend of non directive play therapy and cognitive behavioural skills. The main referral areas she works with are anxiety, challenging behaviour, parental separation, abuse and bereavement.

Fiona is a member of the Irish Association of Play Therapists (IAPTP). Fiona enjoys the variety of the work and helping children overcome their challenges using creative means. 

Jonathan McNab

Jonathan has vast knowledge and experience in psychotherapy and working holistically to help clients balance their emotions and move to a happier place in their life.

Jonathan has a compassionate, caring and understanding approach, with a deep understanding of the difficulties of life and relationships. By using his experience and skill he creates a safe, respectful, warm environment in which clients are supported as they explore their difficult issues, enabling them to gain understanding, self acceptance and new insights as they move towards growth and healing. Thus clients are empowered with new awareness of how to heal and overcome their challenges.

Jonathan is also an excellent Clinical hypnotherapist and has helped numerous clients improve their lives.

Billy Anderson

H.Dip. in Drugs Counselling Skills

B.A. in Sociology


Billy has significant experience working within the capacity of stabilization/harm reduction as well as within the framework of drug-free and abstinence-based programmes. In addition to working within the Minnesota Model of Recovery, Billy has extensive training and specialization in such approaches as Motivational Interviewing, SMART Recovery, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. Over the past several years, Billy has devoted much time and energy towards working with a myriad of people (from various demographics), and he has garnered great fulfilment in watching people change and transform their lives for the better as they realize the liberation of living a life free from addiction. With considerable experience working within the field and in various notable companies (Smarmore Recovery Centre, Merchants Quay Ireland, Bray Community Addiction Team) throughout the country, Billy has recently joined the team at Kildare Counselling, and he brings with him a strong and fervent conviction in the significance of the work.

About Us

Kildare Counselling Service is a family run service based in Newbridge Town Centre, 5 minutes from the M7 motorway, easily accessible by public transport and with on-site parking in a discreet yet easy to find location.

We have been operating since 2010 and have worked with the HSE, Child and Family Agency (Tusla), Kildare VEC, local GP's, Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP), and the general public during this time.
